A practice routine that builds skill, not just scores
Repeating the same quiz teaches answer positions. A routine that alternates learning, targeted repair and simulation teaches reasoning. The tools below are arranged to support five stages, and each one links to the next.
- Baseline: take one untimed verbal reasoning set and read every explanation.
- Repair: use flashcards and the speed drill to fix the skill your diagnostic flagged.
- Extend: add numerical, written-skills, psychological or detective practice if your process includes them.
- Simulate: complete a timed set in exam mode under quiet conditions.
- Review: write the proving sentence for every miss and revisit weak types after two days.
Which tool should you use first?
Choose by situation rather than by what looks easiest. The right first step depends on how close your test is and which stage you are preparing for.
| Your situation | Start with | Why |
|---|---|---|
| New to verbal reasoning | 20-question verbal sets in coaching mode | Explanations appear immediately, so you learn the answer rules while the evidence is fresh. |
| Know the rules but answers are slow | Speed drill | Short timed rounds build pace without a full 20-minute commitment. |
| Keep confusing False and Cannot Say | Rules and qualifier flashcards | Cards isolate the exact trap words that cause the confusion. |
| Test includes a psychological evaluation | Psychological scenario practice | Shows how integrity, stress and judgment questions are reasoned through. |
| Preparing for a detective or investigator exam | Detective exam practice | Covers evidence, report writing, sequencing and observation memory. |
| Test date is set | Study plan builder | Turns the weeks remaining into a checklist of sessions. |
How the Daily 5 challenge and streak work
Every day the hub offers five questions chosen from the written-skills, situational-judgment and investigative-reasoning banks. The set is the same for everyone on a given date and changes at midnight in your own time zone. Finishing any quiz, drill or flashcard deck counts toward your streak, so the Daily 5 is the quickest way to keep it alive on a busy day.
Where your progress is saved
Results, streaks and flashcard status are stored in your browser using local storage. Nothing is uploaded, no account is created, and question-level answers are not sent to analytics. The trade-off is that clearing browser data or switching device starts a fresh history; the progress page lets you download or clear your saved data at any time.
What these tools are and are not
Every question is original and written for this site. The tools build general reasoning and preparation habits; they are not official practice material from any police force, department or testing provider, and no score predicts a real result. Use your invitation and candidate handbook to confirm the format, timing and content of your own assessment.
Take a full verbal reasoning set
A 20-question set gives the most useful baseline, with a breakdown by answer type and reasoning skill.

Is the practice hub really free?
Yes. Every quiz, drill, flashcard deck and planner is free to use and needs no account or email address.
How many practice questions are available?
The site includes verbal reasoning sets, numerical and mixed written-skills questions, sergeant and general knowledge banks, 24 situational judgment scenarios and 24 detective-style questions, plus the daily challenge drawn from several of them.
Will my progress be saved if I close the browser?
Yes, on the same browser and device. Progress lives in local storage, so clearing site data or using a different device starts fresh.
Do these tools predict my real test score?
No. They are independent practice, and real tests differ by force, department and provider. Use them to build skill and to find weak areas.
